The Independence Visitor Center is the gateway to America's Most Historic Square Mile. Located in the heart of Independence National Historical Park, the official Visitor Center of the region is the exclusive location to pick up free-timed tickets to tour Independence Hall. The Independence Visitor Center also provides visitor services and amenities, including a multilingual staff fluent in nine languages, on-site ticketing to more than 60 area attractions and tours, free regional maps and brochures, comprehensive daily event listings, and free informative historical films and wireless internet access. The Visitor Center is also the primary point of orientation for the City of Philadelphia, the Southern New Jersey and Delaware River Waterfronts, as well as Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania.

This is a large center with lots of information and two small theaters , each showing a different short (approx 20 min) film about Philadelphia and its place in history. Very worthwhile to start here.

From here begins everything ... maps, tickets, information office. Close to many of Philadelphia's attractions, right in front of the Liberty Bell.

You have to pick up your tickets for Independence Hall from here. It is just across the road from the Liberty Bell Centre. More than the standard tourist office, it has toilets, a cafe and good sized gift shop - handy for a central stop...More

Very large complex across from The Liberty Bell. This is where you get the free timed tickets to see the Bell. There are shops and exhibits, brouchers and snacks, with very funny and helpful staff. Great place to get started with a visit to Philadelphia.

We were able to go on the Phlash bus booking tickets here. Seniors travel for free. Very helpful staff. We were able plan most of activities over a 3 day weekend. Saved us running around without a plan.

You may begin by parking under the Visitor's Center. Take the elevator up and it's all there. You may purchase tickets for the hop-on, hop-off bus, get free tickets for Independence Hall (get them early!), purchase tickets for other sites, have a light lunch, see...More
