This is an interesting museum that has several hands on exhibits. It gives history of shipwrecks and other tragedies that occurred throughout history on the river. It also had an exhibit on the second floor with information on rowing and Olympic medalists. Very interesting museum.

We did this tour just to see the Olympia and the Becuna (WWII Sub). It was really amazing how well preserved and spotless the Olympia was for being as old as it is. It provides a very unique perspective as a ship in the transition...More

Thanks so much for visiting! Sounds like you had a great day and got to explore quite a few historic ships!

The museum itself is just OK. Not a whole lot of things to keep the kids interested. We went through in less than an hour. The historical boats you can see are way cooler.

Survivor of the Spanish American war, it's an amazing step back into history. Saw this the day after seeing the USS New Jersey, and the comparison of these ships os such and amazing contrast in technology advances!! A must see!!

For being PHILADELPHIA, a pretty major city with vast maritime history, I expected to be overwhelmed by a huge museum with a vast reach of naval history/trading/seaport information. It was pretty small. There was a submarine and boat outside to visit besides the museum, but...More

I loved seeing the submarine and ship. Warning it is a bit of a walk from the musuem to these. My elderly mother needed to rest tonget there, but there are snack trucks to help with that (ice cream always makes a walk worth while)....More

We spent about two hours, about half the time in the museum and half in the submarine and ship.
