We've visited the food market regularly on previous visits but this was a fantastic way to learn more about the building and the history of the market. We had the chance to sample some lovely food and also got some great tips on where to eat later. Greg was an interesting character and told us some great tales of his... More

This was a great introduction to the Reading Terminal Market. Carolyn gave great background of the building, murals, food stands, and the unique flavors of Philly. The Market is a must but could be overwhelming. We made stops to some of the food purveyors that where all delicious! Loved the stories.

Offered only on Wednesday (less hectic) and Saturdays (much busier) in the winter (additional tours are available in the summer), this informative and inexpensive ($16.95/adults & $9.95 ages 7-12) tour covers the history of the local area and the market's 100+ year history. The walking tour, lasting about 75 to 90 minutes is led by Judy, author of several books... More

We did the philly food walking tour, and we're so happy we did. Our guide (the beautiful, charming, and amazing Judy!) was a fourth generation Philadelphian, and it was evident that she not only knew the history of the city, she also knew the funny stories and quirky anecdotes that made this tour one of our favorite activities in this... Reading Terminal Market is a bustling food market, full of shops and tourists and natives, which could be overwhelming for visitors like my family and me. Fortunately, the first activity of our weekend getaway was the Taste of Philly Food Tour, led by Carolyn. She gave an interesting, informative, and clear overview of the shops, history, and layout of the... More

I enjoyed this tour but the name is a little misleading. This isn't the "food tour" many people are used to where you visit four or five food places and eat something between appetizer and small plate size at each one. The person who posted they got a piece of pizza or cheesesteak must have taken a different tour. This... More

I did the Food Tour of Reading Terminal Market with Carolyn. She is very knowledgeable and has some awesome recommendations of places to eat not only in the market but also all around Philly. You get some tastes of different foods in the market and learn a lot about the history. I would highly recommend this Tour during your visit... More

Loved this tour. Our tour guide Eric was awesome. He carried water around for all 15 of us. He shared facts and info about Philly that was really interesting. We were expecting sample sizes...nope full slice of tomato pie...1/2 a Philly Cheese Steak which was huge. We left the tour stuffed. I highly recommend this tour!!!!

We took the tour with Carolyn, who was very knowledgeable about the history of the market and Philadelphia food. We learned many fascinating facts and she was a great story teller. We sampled small portions of food,(which was sufficient as it was 10 in the morning). We were sorry to have to say goodbye to Carolyn , but looked forward... More
