This recently opened museum is a great addition to the historic sites of old Philadelphia. It traces the history of the American Jewish community from Columbus to the present. It is exceptionally well-done as you would expect from a Smithsonian affiliate. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stumbled upon this museum while visiting family. What an excellent collection, and well curated too.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this wonderful museum. The tour was enhanced by having the docent tour and guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. We learned a lot about the Jewish community in Philadelphia. The museum is closed on Mondays. Admission is $22/adult and $11/seniors. The museum covers the 360 year history of Jews in America. The Only... More

We went with family (husband, wife, 2-13 year olds, 7 year old). They all really liked the museum. My husband went to the Grateful Dead exhibit on the top floor. My children liked the museum a lot because there was a lot of hands on things they could touch/do. I liked it because there wasn't a mass amount of people... More

We had a few hours to kill in Philly and had been to the liberty bell, reading terminal, Independence Hall and other historical sites, so we thought we would give this museum a try. We were very impressed. We were limited on time and parking, so we basically wanted a 3 hour visit and that turned out pretty good to... More

We saw an ad for this museum's exhibit on rock and roll promoter Bill Graham. If you are a r&r buff, you'll enjoy this. lots of r&r memorabilia and gives a good portrayal of his life and achievements and just how instrumental he was in promoting r&r concerts. not sure how long this exhibit will be around. we got here... The museum is in a fabulous building and includes a variety of exhibitions about the history of Jewish people in the United States. It is not focused on the religion; more of a history lesson about why various people emigrated and how they assimilated. There were films, exhibitions and hands on experiences. We also saw a temporary exhibition about Bill... More

Entrance to the first floor of the museum is free. There is a very interesting video montage playing (45 minutes or so) of famous Jewish Americans and their contributions to the world. Much enjoyed it.

The museum is a gem. It covers in an in depth and quality manner a gigantic mass of information. But they do it in a way that doesn't make it seem so daunting. The displays are presented in a manner that is appropriate for younger children, yet also providing more than sufficient information to hold an adult's attention. When I... More

I went to see the Bill Graham exhibit. Go see it if you love rock and roll! Well done exhibit and I learned a lot. Beautiful period poster for various acts from the 1960's what a trip!
