Too much space. Too little info. If you want Jewish history, go to Synagogue Mikveh Israel. It's a block away and infinitely better (and cheaper - it's free).

My husband and I lucked out when we entered the museum and were told that a guided tour was about to begin in 10 minutes. The docent was very knowledgeable and moved at a pleasant pace. Be sure to allow yourself a solid 1 1/2-2 hour minimum to allow yourself to see everything at a glance. It really would take... More

The National Museum of Jewish American History, a beautiful building across from Independence Mall, explores at length the Jewish American experience from the time of arrival in the American colonies to present day. Covering three floors, in chronological order, there is so much to see that its takes time to fully engage in the history, individual stories, and the interactive... More

Very interesting and well displayed. We learned about history and how these people impacted our lives today. Interesting to read all about their struggles and successes. The videos shown were also entertaining and educational.

This was a nice exhibition of the history of Judaism in America from the immigration into the US to the changes in ideology from Orthodox to Reform.

First I never knew Jews have been in the USA for so long. A very informative museum and interesting museum. I went through with a guide at no extra cost and I am glad I did.

The coverage of American Jewish history was quite impressive with multiple floors of artifacts, descriptions, multimedia shows, photographs, and very helpful docents. There are even special displays for children and the building itself is beautiful. The museum shop itself is full of tempting Judaica to purchase. Make time to browse through it.
