Chestnut Street was filled with charm from the old buildings to the many stores. We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House on Chestnut Street which was an amazing place on it's own. The history this street could tell.

This street is like an open mall. All major stores and department stores are here. It is safe and festive.

We walked down here as we too a stroll through the historic district. the place is full of character and a good photo opportunity. it's not too far from Independence hall and the Liberty Bell ctr so easy to fit into a stroll if you fancy it.

Chestnut St and Walnut St in Center City are very much the happening part of Philly, though the greatness has also spread to South of Broad (midtown) now. Great food at all price points, fun bars and excellent shopping. Totally safe walking, even for single females.

There are a few attractions on the street, and plenty of restaurants, but I wouldn't go here just to see the street. Place you find when you're going somewhere else.

If you are visiting the historical part of Philadelphia you will end up here but it is not as if there was something very special to it except its History and its name.
