Stop by this small (and free!) museum on your walking tour of Philadelphia. Staffed by actual firemen, Firemans Hall exhibits artifacts, such as leather buckets and fire marks, once and sometimes still used to fight city fires.

I thought this was a cool museum. They have dedications to the 9/11 firefighters, which we went to the Flight 93 Memorial after we left here, so it felt appropriate. They also have some cool old firefighting equipment and trucks. You can try on firefighting...More

I loved this museum. I didn't realise it was on two floors. I didn't realise there were so many exhibits. I thought it was just old fire engines and tenders! There was an interesting video about segregated fire stations. I loved the memorial for fire...More

This firehouse is a bit out of the way, but it was an interesting 15 min visit. I particularly liked the memorabilia and the stained glass window. You can make a donation if you want.

This is a free Museum that runs on donations and is very well stocked with old fire engines and other fire fighting nostalgia. Great for kids and retired or active fire fighters

Are you insured? One of many cool facts, seen here and around town are the "insurance" placards displayed on the homes that were covered. This two story museum is a goldmine of firefighting history.

Fireman's Hall seems to be off the beaten path, located only one block south of the Ben Franklin Bridge. The highlights are the vintage fire engines, the 9/11 exhibit and memorial, and the stained glass, surprisingly. It's free, but they want a donation. Also, very...More

I would say an hour is a good amount of time to spend. You could go through it quicker, but might miss some of the details in the display cases.
