Take a Free and Friendly walking tour with us! It’s free, which means you tip us what you want. It’s friendly because we’re friendly folks. And it’s Philadelphia because we love it and want you to love it too. We’re a Philly company and we’ll show you the whole Philadelphia – or the whole of what’s in walking distance. We lend our friendship freely and we’ll gladly recommend a place to go out after the tour.

Did the cheesesteak tour with Caleb, and it exceeded our expectations. I was in the city for the day with our 3 kids (18, 14, and 11), and they all really enjoyed it--not an easy feat. Caleb was knowledgable and engaging, answering our questions and presenting interesting facts at each location. We felt like we were walking around the city... More

I signed up for the Colonial Cheesesteak Tour, and truly expected to eat cheesesteak on this tour. I actually came hungry- luckily there was a Cosi on the next block, so I grabbed a sandwich and did not starve. Our tour guide was Caleb- he was very patient with all of my questions, and was very knowledgeable about the area... More

Had a great 1.5 hour tour of historic Philly. Saw Ben Franklin's burial site, the Bell, Carpenter's Hall, Independence Hall, and lots of other interesting sites, but NO cheesesteak. The tour guide gave us directions to Sonny's AFTER the tour was over. As I said...great tour-- no cheesesteak. The title should change to The Cheesesteakless Tour.

I forgot my tour guides name but it was an absolutely AMAZING Experience! We saw the liberty bell and more and I also loved it because instead of saying where we were, we got a full story behind it! I've been on many tours to other states and this one definitely stood out!

We (3 of us) arrived in Philadelphia on a Sunday night with no plans. Tripadvisor had some ideas to include the "Free and Friendly" walking tour, so I reached out by e-mail early Monday hoping we could join the 11a tour that day (their website had the day blocked off, so I assumed they were booked). Mark the owner e-mailed... More

Our tour guild...Caleb from South Philly...was amazing. Full of information...a wonderful sense of humor...and very patient with a fussy old woman.. who was thinking only " where's the cheese steak" during the whole tour. And at the end of the tour...not only did I learn that Ben and Betsy could have been "room-mates" (allegedly).. I learned many wonderful facts about... More

Thanks to Mark for meeting my friend and I on a very cold March day! We were the only ones on the Cheesesteak tour, but that didn't seem to matter! We saw Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, and Franklin's burial site, amongst other things. Was perfect for us as we only had 2 days in the city. Loved the local tips... More

I enjoyed my Cheesesteak tour with John. There only 3 people in the tour which made it more intimate and easier to ask questions. John did a nice job covering a lots of sites and information in a short amount of time.

Having never been to Philadelphia, the friend I was visiting thought it would be fun to take me on the Free and Friendly Tours to see the city. We weren't disappointed. Our tour guide, John Sommerville, was absolutely amazing! Not only did he go out of his way to ensure we got a tour, but was also approachable, professional, incredibly... More
