You're better off looking on the internet for the history and costumes than taking the time to go to this dirty and dusty museum. Yes, the costumes are outlandish up close, but it's just weird....

As someone born on New Year's Day, every year I delight in watching the Philadelphia New Year's Day parade and the wonderful Mummers String Bands. I took a group of seniors from Ohio to the Mummers Museum and they were delighted to learn all about this wonderful tradition that is not known outside the Pa/NJ region. The Mummers Museum opened... This is a great way to learn a little bit about the history of one of Philadelphia most unique traditions -- Mummers. Lots of customs and props on display, and you can't beat free.

My friend has always wanted to go as he really likes the Mummers. We got a personal tour of the exhibit and was amazed to learn so much about the history. It was cool to see the costumes up close. Very nice for relaxing visit!

I, like so many in the tri state area have familiy members down the line somewhere who have been or associated with the Mummets in one way, shape, or form. The museum is beautifully done giving special detail to the rich history. I totally recommend this.
