With smaller crowds and less territory to travel in summer heat, and with so much of our country's origin happening here, I thoroughly recommend this over DC as a place for kids to be introduced to history. DC would mean more after this!

You must stop in here, just to imagine how much history there is in this place. Thinking about our founding fathers drafting and discussing our independence, the birth of our nation and the documents we still uphold today is awesome.

Oh my goodness, what a fantastic way to get in touch with the Founding Fathers! To be able to stand where they did in order to write the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. Seeing and experiencing this building brought my...More

Great place to learn our history. must go. make sure to take the young ones so they understand where it all began. Makes you appreciate all the time & effort that our forefathers had to put forth. Guides are very informative & building is beautiful.

Great place to learn our history very nastalgic, see the court room that the term standing trial was coined. See where the constitution and declaration was formed and signed. I recommend the late tour starting at 5:00 p.m.

They are definitely working hard to maintain this place so that all the millions of tourists can enjoy it! It makes walking to all the historical sites a real pleasure.

There really isn't much to do on the mall, but it is a nice place to relax if there are outdoor activities going on. Make sure you visit the Visitor's Center for info on surrounding places.

This mall is the center of all the historic areas of Philadelphia. Surrounded by the Constitution Museum, the Independence National Park, Independence Mall...this large grassy area is the place for entertainmenet and for Philly gatherings. Right in the heart of all things historic!

I would say 1.5-2 hours should be good. If you rush and try really hard you can finish it in 45 mins - 1 hour. If I were you I would skip Mutter Museum if I run short on time.
