In our travels around the country homeschooling and visiting historic sites, we have come across Thaddeus Kosciuszco's name all over the place. We were excited to finally visit the site dedicated to him, and it did not disappoint. Ranger Beth was welcoming and engaging and...More

It's really sad that not many people know who Tadeusz Kościuszko is, considering America probably would not have won the Revolutionary War without him. He was a tactical genius and his planning led to a victory at Saratoga (which turned the tides of the war...More

The smallest site in the National Park Service, this building is not far from Independence Hall and worth a stop. I enjoyed the short film about Thaddeus. I love checking out these smaller sites, you learn something every time!

Smallest and one of the least visited National Parks, but totally worth going. Open odd hours so make sure you know before you go. Kosciuszko was a true American hero, and a hero in Poland as well. Learned a lot and the park ranger was...More

I did not know this national park existed until reading about it in the local newspaper. It is well worth the few minutes spent to catch up on the history of the American Revolution. There are no lines and best of all no admission fee.

If you're in Philadelphia to learn about our colonial history, make sure to walk a few blocks away from the Independence Park area to see this small memorial. We would not have achieved our independence without international help, and Kosciuszko was one of those fighters...More

Many unsung heroes from this era. Perhaps he would ave liked it that way. He was humble, useful, tolerant, obedient, frugal (spartan), and highly skilled in engineering.

This is one of the National Park System (NPS) properties that is still suffering from budget cuts necessitated by the children in Congress. They have most of what they need, but they could use funding to expand hours. Kosciuszko was important to our nation's founding...More

We took our four young children to the Memorial on a Sunday afternoon...and were glad that we did. It has very limited hours so check ahead! Kosciuszko only stayed for a few months in one room of this Philadelphian boarding house but the Polish freedom...More
