My husband and I brought my 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter here to see the model trains featuring Thomas the Tank engine and his friends who were visiting for the weekend. We had never been here before and had no idea what to expect. "Wow" is an understatement! This place is beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. The... More

We went there on a whim after passing it earlier in the week. Fantastic find! So much to see. There were also 2 activities for kids - a squirrel hunt and a stamp book. I don't know who liked the activities more - us or the kid! We also enjoyed the treetop adventure, where you can climb into a robin's... More

I've visited this place many times over the years. Walking through the gardens soothes the soul. Very beautiful and lends a sense of peace. The rose garden is a must see, even after the roses have faded. The swan pond is tranquil...and magnificent when the pair of swans decide to grace you w/ their presence. If you're looking for a... This place is a gem I never knew existed until recently, a must see if you're in the area! It took us hours to get through as there were so many quirky exhibits within the gardens such as an overlook with a netted area to walk out on where you can see the ground below you're feet, the most well... Peaceful, beautiful landscape awaits you. Lots of space to roam and walk, and also there is a fun tree adventure and hammock high above the ground to offer a different perspective. Great for couples, solo, families with kids of all ages. Lots to explore. Plenty of shade for hot days. Owned by the University of Pennsylvania, this property is incredibly... More

If you find yourself looking for something to do in the suburbs with kids this is a great spot. There are beautiful gardens, a garden railway and a canopy walk through the treetops. It is a bit pricey if you have a large group but I have never been unhappy with a visit there.

We came to the arboretum on a humid July day. It wasn't that it was hot, but it was humid. They humidity is a killer so my first recommendation is to come on a day that is mild. If you want to go at a hotter time of the year, there is plenty of shade. Just mind your time as... More

We came on a hot July afternoon and ended up being caught in a brief but drenching thunderstorm but my kids all still had a good time. There's a scavenger hunt and "passport stamps" to keep their younger visitors engaged and it certainly worked on my younger kids. The grounds truly are beautiful and I'm looking forward to coming back... More

Its a wonderful place to visit! Preferably in the spring or fall. So much to see that I recommend a tour.

This is one pleasant place within reachable distance from NJ or Philly. We were there by 10 am. The area of the arboretum is big and takes about 2 hrs to cover all the areas. First we have to go to the visitors center next to the parking area and get a map of the place. There are several spots... More
