Logan Circle exists within the original bounds of Logan Square although the 2 names are used interchangeably when referring to this Philadelphia open-space park. From 1800 to 1825 the square served as a pasture, graveyard, and execution grounds which hosted a gallows until the hanging of William Gross on 7th February 1823. A large fountain, erected in July 1924, dominates the centre of the Square / Circle. When I visited in Dec 2021 the fountain was drained of water, I assume for the Winter to prevent icing. It is a pleasant enough park but nothing more than average in my opinion compared to the many parks on offer globally.

Did not get old seeing this oasis coming and going from our hotel. Fountain and sculpture are impressive. Gardens also nice. Sad to see so many homeless in and around this landmark.

Logan Square has a monumental fountain and attractive landscaping. It is apopular picnic spot and a haven on hot days. It is in a traffic circle in Ben Franklin Pkwy.

The water fountain was well maintained and was nice to watch. There was a natural rainbow being formed with the mists of the water that was being blown by a little wind in the area. There weren't a lot of people so I was able to get some good pictures.

You will walk past this delightful park if you make the trek up to the museums. Just a lovely fountain, which was full of kids on a hot, humid summer day. Lots of parks and fountains in Philly, this is one of the best.

I went to Philadelphia to see an exhibit at the Barnes Foundation. I walked back to the Train station. On that walk, I passed by the fountain in Logan Circle. It had to be 95 degrees and equal that in humidity. So when I saw people playing in the fountain, I wanted to join in. But I had a train to catch back to DC. Oh well, next time.

There are many beautiful things to see in Philly. Logan Circle or Logan Square is one of my faves. The area is a beautiful park surrounded by museums and old buildings. Swann Memorial Fountains is located in the middle and is a wonderful centerpiece.

So this is a very nice and relaxing square for visit and for relaxing. There are water sprays and also lots of smaller activities including park benches and chairs. Don’t forget some famous signs to take pictures with like I LOVE PHILADELPHIA & LOVE. Overall, nice circle to browse for a wonderful afternoon experience.

This traffic circle in the middle of one of the city's truly grand boulevards. This is grand style city planning with the museums around and park land.

Lovely area with beautiful fountain. There are an library across the street and a few museums in that area, all walking distance. Love the architectures there. Definitely historic area.

If you are on hop-on hop-off tour bus, there is stop at this location.
