If you love history, invention and technology, this is the place to be. Even though the first film studio (the Black Maria) is an exact replica is still a wonder to film historians. the labs and all the machines built by Edison are truly innovative. The library and office rooms were awe-inspiring to this librarian/historian. We watched a demonstration of... More

We've been to the Oranges a few times and just found out this place exists. We were excited. Who doesn't know Thomas Edison?! There are so many things to see but everything seems so off limits and closed off. Could use more written stories throughout. What the tools would have been used for; what was drafted in the room; when... More

This is a great educational experience. I never thought there was so much to learn about, until I ventured a short distance from my house to visit this historical site. I highly recommend it, because you will not be disappointed.

The experience starts at Thomas Edison's laboratories, where you sign up for this additional tour. But, it is worth it. Thomas Edison purchased this house from a department store clerk, but it rivals some of the mansions within an hour or so away, such as the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt mansions across the river in New York. You will be amazed... More

The Edison Laboratories is a treasure trove of artifacts from the beginnings of our electronic age. There's so much to take in that it's worth more than one visit. And the home is beautiful, especially around the holidays.

My husband and I enjoyed visiting the lab, all left as is, in homage to the great Edison! He was the forefather to Apple's Jobs and others. Park rangers love their jobs and are enthusiastic. We were disappointed not to be able to go to the Edison due because it's closed from January to April. Bring cash too; on our... More
