The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address".

Extremely interesting presentation of the battle of Gettysburg. They really tell the story of the battle along with personal stories of some of the individuals. Every American should see this to remember their sacrifice.

Just happened to visit on Ford Family day which made the park more crowded than usual, but saved us admission cost. The cyclorama is worth seeing! The best part was the guided auto tour. The museum hires outside contractors who will drive you (up to...More

Visiting the battlefields at Gettysburg was a terrific way to bring to life for our home schooled son, just what happened during The Battle of Gettysburg.

We made a repeat visit to the park. As usual we parked in lot 3, walked to the visitor center, then into the park. Usually you can walk via a paved path. and cross the street to the cemetery, but currently you can't walk that...More

What a great historical setting. The park is so beautifully maintained. You get a real sense of the drama the Battle of Gettysburg contains and its import in the stability of our country these past 150+ years.

Highly recommend! We used SegTours (2nd time) and we're very very pleased! We were up close and personal on the Western Battlefield for 9 miles in about 2 hours. Very cool!

At least once in your life you need to this. Very surreal experience that really brings the events of the war into complete clarity.

Do we really need to talk about this???????? You have to go to see this and the town is also part of the experience somewhat. Look out for artillery holes and little plaques saying civil war building meaning that building was there during the Battles.

This park is a national treasure. Very moving. We couldn't begin to see everything in the time we had. And you can to this park very inexpensively. Be sure to take advantage of the free programs and guided tours the park rangers offer daily. We...More

you receive discounts on those ticket prices if you're a senior and a member of the armed forces. Also I believe veterans. the pass you speak of is more for access fees like the fees to enter example petersburg.

As long (or short) as you'd like. I'd give it at least two hours, assuming you will stop at a few spots and get out, plus you'll be reading signs or listening to the audio description (if you have an audio tour program... More
