The Battle of Gettysburg was a turning point in the Civil War, the Union victory that ended General Robert E. Lee's second and most ambitious invasion of the North. Often referred to as the "High Water Mark of the Rebellion", Gettysburg was the Civil War's bloodiest battle and was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address".

I've never been to a battlefield up North so this was an experience. As someone who wrote their thesis on Civil War monuments, this park was jammed packed with them which was great.

Sad, all the lives lost during this war. Except for some of the construction around the park, it was well worth the time spent here.

you receive discounts on those ticket prices if you're a senior and a member of the armed forces. Also I believe veterans. the pass you speak of is more for access fees like the fees to enter example petersburg.

As long (or short) as you'd like. I'd give it at least two hours, assuming you will stop at a few spots and get out, plus you'll be reading signs or listening to the audio description (if you have an audio tour program... More
