If you're near Hyde Park this is well worth the short ride. Very informative, relaxed tour. Beautiful grounds. Another historic area we should be very proud of. Our National Parks are a treasure and they're staffed by dedicated, well informed employees.

Another great National Historic site. Friendly tram driver picked us up promptly for the short ride to the house. Great movie before the tour - led by a very knowledgeable, friendly guide. Well worth the visit !

We only visited the Stone Cottage and the grounds due to time constraints. The Stone Cottage is worth a visit. It provides some good information about Eleanor Roosevelt and her support of women and their presence in the workplace. The grounds are scenic and worth...More

We had visited the rest of the FDR buildings a few years ago but hadn't managed to get to Val-Kill that time so it was top of our list this visit as we loved the other parts of the site. There is an introductory video...More

Good museum film and small house with interesting contents. Guided tours only during week. Can't go upstairs if more than 8 in the group. Glad we went

A quiet place, down home feel. Very comfortable home that entertained politicians and royalty. Ranger who gave tour had just enough humor, tidbits, and historical facts. Great video to start tour.

Eleanor's cottage is full of history and a tranquil spot removed from the FDR Home. Take time to walk around, this is a lovely part of the Hudson river valley

It's so different to see how Eleanor lived and where she chose to be. It looks like a dump but all the history and goings on were so fascinating to hear about. The park ranger woman knew a lot and we could have spent hours...More

It is historic and very interesting place to bring your family. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of the visit and I am returning in two years time with a different group. Mrs. Roosevelt's life is so interesting. So much to learn from her philosophy. I...More

Information I've never heard about this dynamic lady! Some furniture in home made in the factory she helped develop to train local men in skills. The Jr. Ranger book was developed by a 4th grader. Kids will enjoy the activities.

There is the Hyde Park Brewhouse across from the FDR Library complex. It brews its own beers which are a range of flavors that will meet most palates somewhere. It is not fancy but it is very good at what it represents... More
