Got to valkill for the first tour. Rangers in the gift shop were very friendly. Saw a short movie about valkill then toured the house. Then visited the stone cottage. My opinion, this place gives an incredible explanation of Eleanor and Franklin 's relationship.

No pretensions at all in Eleanor Roosevelt's home. She lived here 1945-62 and entertained many US politicians seeking her approval.

Really nice house tour, the NPS guide was very informative and engaging! Definitely worth doing the whole "Roosevelt Experience"! To truly see all the sights plan on two days, there is too much for one day.

After a short film and guided tour of Val-Kill Cottage with personal stories of...More

So wonderful to spend some time with my heroine. The guide was so informative and clearly invested in keeping her memory and ideals alive. This should not be missed when visiting Hyde Park. Eleanor was quite the lady!!

This was probably my favorite historic site of all the FDR related sites that you can see in one trip. You can do a combo tour of this home, the presidential library, and FDR's getaway house in the woods, Top Cottage, as well. It's all...More
