O'Neill lived in the Tao House in the hills above Danville from 1937-1944 and wrote several plays here. The house itself is characteristic of old California Spanish-style architecture. The locus is peaceful and hardens back to the time when the area was rural and bucolic. The docents who lead the tours are well-informed and provide fine tours. Well worth ones'... More

What a food, museum, and children's activity treasure! Car museum is dynamite, and is enclosed with an early Native American history set of dioramas that must measure 100' x 25' and are absolutely packed with miniature detail of cowboys, Indians, calvary, buffalo, horsed, bear and deer. Plus life-size sculptures galore of elephants and gets and more!

Not really that many shops; mostly good restaurants. Nice waterways and some summer-time music too. Draeger's market has some great wines and a nice (expensive) meat/seafood counter. The Blackhawk Museum is worth a visit if you enjoy antique cars.

I always like going to the Blackhawk plaza on Sundays. It is not crowded, especially in the morning. This place is verybdog friendly. There a few restaurants, but they are all nice. Not too much shopping, but enough, especially if I just want to browse. For Halloween they always have something fun going on for our furry friends and it... More

My friend and I went there for a some girl time. We did some shopping, browsing and eating. We were able to sit on a patio at the restaurant and watch ducks swim, and hear the waterfall. It was very relaxing. We went back another day with my granddaughter and she also enjoyed the duck pond and the playground! Net... More

If you want atmosphere, this shopping mall has it in spades. Antique automobile museum, upscale market (Draegers), fine clothing shops, movie and restaurants, etc. Centerpiece is the falls, fountains, ponds with ducks, sculptures, and marble structures. Fun just to hang out at and window shop. Fun place to take the young ones.

Just like the last time we visited Blackhawk Plaza, we came primarily to do lunch and visit the museum. Nevertheless, we would have enjoyed our stroll around this remarkable shopping/dining/entertainment mecca even if we never set foot in one of the buildings. The architecture is eye pleasing and the landscaping is drop-dead gorgeous. I particularly like the water features and... More

My husband and I love the cream cheese frosted chocolate fudge cake. We used to get it at the San Mateo location. I got one for my husband as a treat for his birthday. He liked it, but in comparing it to the Whole Foods black and white cake in Napa, it's not as good. Still very good and bakery... More
