Good place to camp and visit the surrounding area. The beach was great and seeing the old ship wreck. Interesting history in the park and near by with the Russel Battery. Unfortunately the mosquitos were large and bad.

This is an easily accessible beach with an interesting shipwreck that makes for great pictures. Easy, beautiful way to dip your toes in the Pacific.

We try to stay here when we are on the pacific coast. It's always clean and friendly but this trip I think they need to do a little shower maintenance. Awesome beach and things to see and do!

Just a decade or two ago, the wreck seemed important enough to pull people off of Highway 101 to visit. Today, the weather and the water have made this wreck a shadow of its past. It could have been a better maintained "wreck" had they...More

We stayed at the Fort Stevens State Park campground for 2 nights. Easy to find if you are taking the Route 101 (Pacific Coast Scenic Byway). We mostly played turists but had a chance to spend time at the beach which was gorgeous. It is...More

Great Place to Walk on the Beach and it didn't cost anything. It was fun walking around the ship. The beach is clean.

What's not to love about Fort Stevens?!?! A family could stay busy here for at least a week. A miles long windy beach, only about a one-mile walk on a nice wide paved multi-use trail, with black and white sand and rusty old shipwrecks is...More

Fort Stevens is my favorite State Park for camping. It offers a wide variety of things to do for everyone. Plenty of hiking trails, walking or driving on the beach, Biking trails, running trails, a lake, shipwreck, a historic fort, and other nearby the stork...More

We would like to tent. Do we have to use the tent sites specifically or can we use any site?

I agree with Kevin but also think it best to use the designated camping areas for security and safety.

Nope. If you are looking for this type of camping the KOA across the street has good (not great) wifi and cable TV connections.
