I have been to several state parks and I must say that Davis Mountains State Park is tied for first place with Colorado Bend State Park. For those who find Texas to be a disappointing or insignificant state you just haven't explored it enough! I...More

Nice state park with great mountain views and good bird watching. Deer wander through campsites. Naturalist is enthusiastic and helpful. Have tent camping and RV sites. Some with full hook-ups. Dynamic sunrises and sunsets. The restaurant at the lodge provides good food at reasonable prices.

We camped here for one night. The sites were large--so large that it was a trek both to the car and to the bathrooms but we enjoyed the privacy. We didn't do anything else in the park.

We weren't able to stay long but I want to return. Beautiful area. Very peaceful. It was nice and cool even in June.

This state park is in west Texas just northwest of the Big Bend National park. It has campsites, trails, and playgrounds for people of all ages. It is conveniently located close to Alpine (if you don't have your own lodging) but is crisp and refreshing...More

This park is very pretty. It has some challenging hiking trails, and a couple that are relatively flat. There are 2 full hookup trailer/rv areas. All have fire rings and tables, some have covered tables. Cell service and wifi were just about non-existent in the...More

Are there any places to take a Polaris and ride trails? I'm not looking for rock climbing or anything, just a few miles to drive with my kids.

We did not have AT&T cell service at most locations inside Davis Mountains State Park. However, it did work in specific places (top of Skyline Drive, in the Blackbear Restaurant, top of a hill while we were out hiking... More
