The Walters is a beautiful example of the right way to handle an art gallery and it is MUCH larger than it initially appears. The curators keep it fresh with new exhibits coming through and the art is beautiful.

The Walters has a particular emphasis on ancient and medieval art, but there is enough variety to please most. The building itself is interesting. The courtyard is accessible to rest during the visit also. Parking as anywhere in the city can be a challenge, but there are sometimes spaces in the lot adjacent to the building. Love love love Walters Art Museum. The children were captivated and fascinated. The Museum is located on North Charles Street. Parking can be difficult but is worth it. Walters also offers a sensor sensitive day. Check with the Museum for more information.

Any museum is worth your time, but this one is especially good. It has artifacts, paintings and sculptures from so many historical periods. Easy to spend hours here.

I have visited the Walters a few times, often with my daughter, an art student. It is really a lovely museum, easy to visit at your own pace, without crowds, and much to see and learn. Go when you can.

Can't say enough good things about The Walters!! Beautiful collection housed in a thoughtful way, perfect for taking it all in. I can't really take it all in on one visit. But since it's free, I can come back whenever. Visiting after work on a Thursday is perfect.

This is a collection of American & European art worth visiting. The collection includes preCivi War furniture as modern pieces. The Matisee, Gauguin, van Gogh and Cezanne as the Rodin and Degas are outstanding.

I'm so glad we went to the Walters Art Museum, the collection is huge and full of variety, and the best part is it's FREE! It is also located near Mt. Vernon Historical district so you can take in the Washington Monument park and beautiful surrounding architecture.

Beautiful small museum and art gallery, displaying everything from Egyptian times through to medieval times, some Victorian aND more. The museum is a free entrance, and private, its simply wonderful.

This is a FREE museum that has great exhibitions. We took the free tour and learned a lot about the time period of the featured exhibition. Lots of rooms to wander about. On Sundays, they have a kid's program. We had a lot of fun there dressing up and taking funny pictures. We had a limited amount of time there... More
