About
As one of America's oldest seaports, Inner Harbor is now an important landmark and popular tourist destination. Follow the brick promenade through this bustling complex of eateries, stores, museums and entertainment venues. Rent a paddle boat to have some fun in the water with the kids, or take them to the National Aquarium which is one of the nation’s largest. History buffs will enjoy touring the heritage ships anchored in the harbor, while travelers of all ages can soak up the marvelous views from the Top of the World Observation Level. Sightseeing tours and scavenger hunts are two other great activities at the Inner Harbor.

Quiet and Empty of Visitors Last November
When we visited in November 2022, the Inner Harbor had not yet recovered from the pandemic. I recall it being a fun and lively area when I was last here 20 years ago. While it still is an attractive setting, the area felt abandoned when I visited on a Sunday afternoon in early November. Maybe it was just the time of year and I hope things are different in the warmer summer months as it is a scenic and historic place to visit. The National Aquarium located here is amongst the best aquariums in the country.

Walking the Inner Harbor in Baltimore
We enjoyed walking around the whole Inner Harbor area, and luckily, we didn't have any problems or harassment at all. We took a cruise on a Watermark boat, and the crew and captain were all very friendly and helpful. It is sad that businesses have moved out of the harbor, but hopefully, they will move back as safety improves. The Science Museum, Aquarium, Lighthouse, and a great playground are still there and worth seeing.

    Safe & enjoyable (daytime)
We stayed nearby to attend Baltimore Orioles games. During the days we strolled around Piers 3 to 1 and felt safe despite recent negative reviews. We took the free ferry (8 min ride) across from Pier 3 to Federal Hill and walked around back to the USS Constellation. We read historic signs, are ice cream and another day visited the National Aquarium. Walking at night between Calvert St. & Camden Yards was safe. Planning to return with grandchildren!

    “ A Nice Day Out”
It is a nice place to visit and stroll along the water front. There are a lot of things to do and see along the water front. Plus a few good restaurants to stop in for a bite to eat. Just check on the place or attraction you want to visit. Some places are closed on Sundays.

    Work the stroll
Our hotel was close by the inner harbour, so we took a stroll along the harbour. You will walk by the National Aquarium, historical ship parked along the harbour. There were paddle boats and live music, so it was a very nice stroll.

    Worth checking out
The city of Baltimore had done a very good job renovating the Inner Harbor area. The locals love to walk around enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds and there are places for kids to play. There are many things to do and see- the Visitors Center, National Aquarium, Historic ships, Maryland Science Center, and the Port Discovery Childrens Museum. Plus, there are paddle boats, water taxis and cruises available. And don't miss out on the many restaurants and shopping.

    Fireworks on NYE!
Happy New Year!🎈🎊 As I suspected, this area of Fell’s Point in Baltimore ended up being an excellent choice for fireworks celebrations on New Year’s Eve. The only downside is that it will put a dent in your wallet. Most bars serve a cheap beer and it will set you back $15-$20. What ever happened to the $2 beer? Haha!

This used to be a great escape for a weekday. We arrived today, did the aquarium with plans to visit some of the shops - they’re gone! 95% of the stores are vacant. Such a disappointment, glad we are only here for 1 night.

This used to be the saving grace of a trip to the wretched city that is Baltimore. But now, it has fallen a good piece, and as always the relatively attractive area is too small an things deteriorate rapidly just a few blocks out. This used to be on the bubble as a recommended must do, but now is an easy pass.

Very sad to see the Inner harbor in its condition today compared to several years ago. Now the weather was poor so if it was nice we could have ice skated, or if it was in the summer we possibly could ride the paddle boats. But as far as the stores that use to be all along the harbor. There is nothing left. I suppose covid and all the riots they had here did them in. There were only a 2 stores opened. I did not get to the aquarium. They are still there so I cannot comment on that, but the harbor stores most are closed down. Signs every where do not smoke cannibis by order of the government. But that was the first thing I smelled when I walked into the opened decrepit mall that had only one store opened. Very sad.

Stayed at the Renaissance hotel for New Year’s Eve. My husband purchased water front/Inner harbor view(more money)! Ordered microwave early on so we would have one in our room which of course is a extra fee and didn’t get until after 7 checking in is at 4pm and it was damn near 7 when we got into our rooms. They where definitely not prepared for the amount of people checking in for the night. You would have thought they would have extended everyone’s stay and additional hour considering how much time we stood in line and the cost to stay for one night. Room has cheap towels and wash cloths no tissues in room and limited cosmetics such as lotion in room things that usually come standard in a 4 star hotel. View was nice and good location.

If you are headed to Inner Harbor and in need of a rental car, DO NOT rent from the Enterprise Car Rental on Light Street. I had a reservation for a 7-passenger vehicle over Thanksgiving 2023 and they did not have my car -- or ANY car -- when I arrived. The manager Ms. Smalley lied to me and told me that she had left me "several voicemails" the day before (she had not), and that there was "nothing she could do." No offer to help, nothing. Essentially "pound sand." Never again.

Parking can be difficult and expensive. aquarium was ok but have been to nicer ones. Walk around the harbor would be awesome and beautiful if not for the declining atmosphere. Was continuously asked for money by the homeless that walk around the area. A small group of individuals making racial protest and directing them at certain groups. They made my 10 year old son feel uneasy when they directly made hateful remarks towards him even though we tried to avoid them and had no contact with them until I told them to leave us alone. Not a friendly or inviting place. Felt unsafe outside aquarium. Will never go back to Baltimore or any of its tourist areas. Will gladly plan trips to somewhere else. Don't recommend and family to visit Inner harbor or Baltimore for that fact.

Wish the shops were opened. Hard to contribute to the local economy with very limited shopping. At least most of the restaurants were opened.
