There may well be no better place to see a film in Baltimore. A classic movie house, with its original decor, and patrons who respect the art of film making. The Senator has panache, élan, understated elegance, and is, quite simply, a true pleasure to...More

Ok, so this place is really unique... we are not from Baltimore so we have never been here before and had no idea this Movie “Theater” is actually a real theater like as in Broadway (Not that fabulous though). It is not in the best...More

If you like movies and appreciate a true movie theatre, do yourself a favor and go to The Senator. Baltimore’s favorite cinema shows regular blockbuster feature films as well as a tantalizing array of oldies but goodies. I grew up going to The Senator and...More

Enjoy yourself in a 900 seat auditorium, with wall deco decorations from the opening day, 1939. With a 40 foot screen and a state of the art sound and projection systems, you will have a wonderful experience. I have been going there for the last...More

I love The Senator! We try to always go here rather than a chain theater. The ambiance and decor simply cannot be beat. When Star Wars Episode VII came out, we saw that opening night, and they had musicians on stage playing the soundtrack before...More

Some movies were made to be seen on a huge screen with great sound and shared with a live audience. This is not your average Netflix movie experience. History, art deco, a restored movie palace. Your kids have never seen anything like this. And they...More

We saw the new Guardians of the galaxy film on the big screen. We ordered burgers from Clark burger. You are allowed to bring the food from Clark Burger into the theater. We ate it at the tables in the back row during the film....More

Same as subject. Best of the best in old time renovated theatres. Always a joy to support a real movie theatre.

The Senator I have visited throughout the many years of living in the Baltimore area. Full of nostalgia, beautiful art deco, still only 1 huge screen, unlike all of the multiplex theater out there now. Directly off York Road near Towson, Maryland.

Seeing a movie on the big screen in the main theater should not be missed. The preserved historic charm of the theater is complimented with an amazing sound system and cushy new seats. Check the schedule for retro movie screenings.
