Sitting on a bench after walking a portion of Factors Walk, I tried to imagine what life was life for the cotton merchants. The port would have been bustling. There were different places where "historic steps" were. They were old and steep. We opted for the pathway to get from the Riverfront area to Factors Walk.

Architecturally this is a neat place to stroll and, possibly, take some pictures. The stores / restaurants, however, are not worth your time. Also, this area seems a bit dirty and smelly (think a semi-clean New Orleans). Glad to have seen it, but I'm not going back any time soon.

We rented 228 E. Factors Walk for 3 nights when we visited Savannah for our niece's destination wedding. This place is right on River Street in the middle of all of the action. Shops, Restaurants, entertainment galore. If you want to be in the middle of the action this is your kind of place. The amenities of this very spacious... More

On a river bank, the variety of stores and restaurants are almost overwhelming. We had dinner at Huey's and recommend it.

I enjoyed walking along the riverfront. There were places to sit. The cobblestone is typical of Savannah, and one must be careful walking on it. It is nice to look at the architecture of the buildings. The shops have souvenirs, books, sweets, etc., and the proprietors are very friendly. For those who are interested in the history, it is easy... More

This was our 1st trip to Savannah. Seeing hotel prices on River Street, I was tempted to book a good, well known hotel for a lower rate...after all, we only needed the room to sleep in. Booking a River view room at River Street Inn was a GREAT choice. We were so pleased, we extended our stay at even higher... More

Near River street and contains many wonderful shops and antiques. The shop owners are always friendly and grateful you stopped in. Each shop has unique items to purchase and most of them sell bottled water to keep you hydrated.

This is a nice walk of the old factor's stores and cotton trading buildings. You can walk down the historic brick path and get a great view of the Talmadge Bridge. The old buildings are still there but are filled with touristy bars, restaurants, and shops. You're not going to get too much history here anymore but it is a... More
