Just love these squares in downtown Savannah. This one was established in 1742 and was eventually named after James Oglethorpe, the founder of Georgia.

It's a lovely square for a quick walkthrough or for a relaxing rest or picnic. There is plenty of people watching to be done and history to be absorbed. Take a guided tour if you want the details.

Saw this square at night on our ghost walk. 1 of 22 squares in the downtown area. Quite a historical place.

This square was large but quaint at the same time. It is surrounded with really beautiful buildings. One of my favorite squares in Savannah. A history buff would love it.

This one was also similar to the other squares but also had beautiful buildings all around. The small park is quaint and very peaceful.
