Very cool place to visit. It has a great short video before you walk thru the museum. The visitor center is in the same building. Plus the Railway museum is across the street. Great location downtown.

I found the museum interesting and worth my time. The Visitor's Center is located in the same building. On a very hot or very cold day, this is a great place to spend some time. Then hop over to the Georgia State Railroad Museum and the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum located close by.

1. My Background/Expectations. This was my first visit to the museum. As a retired U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Officer, I am always interested in visiting any museum that has a military flavor. As a History/Political Science major and history enthusiast, I am always on the lookout for history museums when I travel. Bottom Line. I would consider this a nice,... More

Museum. You know? Cool stuff, but for a town like that they could really use some major corporate sponsorship and do a helluva lot more. All over the place and kind of had a college project vibe to it. Still, pretty cool and worth $7...all the staff were super polite, but the displays really could use some organization and upgrading.

We enjoyed this site. The history of Savannah, is so much. Today we will be going to the train museum hoping it's another good site to visit on a 3 day site pass

Adults were very interested in the exhibits and a scavenger hunt for the kids worked well. The hunt kept them engaged. This is our third time to visit this museum over 10 years. Well designed.

Good overall history of Savannah mostly presented on reader boards. They do have an interesting old steam locomotive. There is a movie on Savannah that you can view without paying for the museum. Spend your time in the historic district and if you have an hour or so to spare go to this museum.

If you go to this museum try to be there at a time when you can participate in the Oct. 9, 1779 battle re-enactment; this is absolutely the highlight of the experience. The participation opportunity makes it all the more fun than just looking at the maps---tactile imagination of what it was like----that's the ticket! As a minimum, do try... More

My husband and I went as part of the 3 park package. We truly enjoyed the presentation about the revolutionary war and the battle that took place in Savannah. The presenter was dressed for the presentation and was super knowledgeable.

The introductory movie provides valuable background to the significance and history of Savannah. Later in the self-guided tour we were invited to join a live re-enactment of aspects of the Battle of Savannah concluding with an actor firing off two shots using a flintlock musket which caught everyone's attention!
