Skidaway is the place to go if you like the outdoors and want that true Southern swampy mystery feeling, sans the houses and garden's of good and evil. The trails are all wide and smooth hardpack. Smooth enough even for a stroller, I would say....More

If you can beat the heat head out to the parks trails. It’s cheap, convenient and fun. Simple flat hikes that allow you to walk the perimeter of a river marsh. The back loops by like Still loop are pretty along with some of the...More

Skidaway State Park is a great place to camp. They have a nature tour with a Park Ranger that takes you through a salt marsh and marine deciduous forest.

Huge sites. Bathrooms were so clean. Had nice facilities and trails. We were here in July, in a tent, with a lot of rain so that dampened out spirits. But I would love to stay here in October as it would be perfect.

This park has it all: peace and quiet, very nice hiking trails, lots of wildlife [deer, birds] and of course, beautiful oaks and Spanish moss.

We have camped at the one campground in Tybee before but they were booked up for this trip so we decided on Skidaway Island State Park - wow! We loved the huge, peaceful, wooded sites. Tons of shade for those hot days. We had deer...More

This hidden little gem is a short drive from downtown, but it feels like you're faraway from Savannah. Take the dog for a hike or just capture some peace and quiet in the trees and historic relics from the first Savanah settlers.

Yes and the sites are really large . When we were there we bought the Georgia State park pass which gave us 2 nights free so we paid less for the 4 nights we stayed. Beautiful
