We did the unguided tour of the museum, wandering around engine sheds and workshops having first watched the very interesting video. The area is sizeable and, whilst there is much to interest the railway enthusiast, more needs to be done and, I understand, is planned.

The tour was good but then you are left in the hot sun to tour the hot buildings and just figure out how things happened. Needed more guidance and fans! Was not overall impressed.

We were here I think 2 years ago.My husband is a model train enthusiast. We found this by accident. We toured inside and rode a short distance. I think kids would like this.

Railroad fans will enjoy the hands on exhibits,it is good for children and adults alike. There is a steam engine that gives tours of the grounds.

Georgia State Railroad Museum has a large gravel lot, which is free for museum visitors.
