Stopped here with our children as we were passing through GA on our way to Florida. This was a very interesting museum. It is small but has such history in it. I highly recommend getting a tour from Ray. He was very informative and fun....More

Cool for kids that are interested in trains and history. Had some cool buildings and cars to view. Check schedule before going, tours run at certain times so depending on what time you go you may miss it. Our three year old loved it

We really love this place. Cool to look at all the old trains and turntable/shed. You can go on a very short steam train ride (a few feet down tracks and back) and look at the old buildings. We bought the see 3 tickets here...More

Enjoyed this outing. Get up close to, and even board some big train engines. Lots of history re: the rail yard, tools that were used, folks who worked there. They were even restoring a car while we were there. Good visit

My husband and I visited this museum during our first trip to Savannah. It was interesting to learn about the history of railroads in Savannah, but we would not return for another visit.

Next door to the Savannah Visitor's Center, and fascinating! Ride an old passenger train, see cars used by the "Big Wigs" of the railroad, see a machine shop used to restore trains of old.

We offer guided tours 10:30-12:00 and 1:00-4:00. Site Tours by Train are currently at 11:00, 11:30, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00. You are not required to view the orientation film. We also have a playroom called Locomotion Lab... More

Georgia State Railroad Museum has a large gravel lot, which is free for museum visitors.
