We were fortunate to have a private tour of both the grounds and the inside of the church because our son had been the one who had overseen the redo of the lane connecting the church to the parking area and other buildings directly across from it. The interior is absolutely breathtaking, and now the hardscape has brought the entire... More

We planned our Savannah trip around attending the I P C Christmas service. It was wonderful in every way. On top of being (what we believe) the most beautiful church in Savannah, the music and preaching was awesome. This church isn't open for tours, but if you're in Savannah on a Sunday, I recommend attending a service.

Savannah is full of interesting history and the Independent Presbyterian Church is part of it. It serves as a reminder why many of our settlers took the chance and came to the "new world" and took a big chance on surviving. This church was founded during 1755 by 43 dissenters from the C O E who preferred the Doctrines of... More

The Independent Presbyterian Church (IPC) was founded by Scotch immigrants in 1755 and has continued to be a presence in Savannah ever since. Its magnificent steeple thrusts skyward as reminder that the everyday life in streets, businesses and home is still under the umbrella of the divine. The sanctuary is beautifully designed with its dark wooden pews facing a very... More

The Christ Anglican Church had been holding services there until their Church was ready. The Gregorian Chants were absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We sang goodnight to God. It is a must to be in that presence of God!

Beautiful courtyard too with azaleas, dogwoods and other flowers. The pulpit is awesome, along with the ceiling and columns. A must see. Even better with a tour guide to share the history.

If you are a music educator and a music enthusiast, this is a must stop in Savannah. Lowell Mason served the congregation at this church, and he impacted church music and music education throughout the United States.
