I rate this high-lite of Vancouver a 'six star'. When you walk onto the reserve you can feel it instantly. A calmness. You are surrounded the yesterday of cracked concrete sidewalks, stately old homes and parade grounds. The old Fort itself is a look back on some of our forefathers great accomplishments. Here you have ample parking, restrooms, a wonderful... More

This is the description of all the attractions at Fort Vancouver. Plus all the land surrounding it,it is still an active military site so there is a lot of land and parking and walks included. No going to the PX.

Initially I wanted to have a look at Officers row and check out the Pearson Air Museum. When I arrived it had been raining a little bit. That is when I spotted a sign at The Grant House that LUNCH was being served. I didn't realize it was a restaurant-- so I went their first thing to enjoy and meal... More

If you are looking for a fun, family-friendly day out, take a walk along the Vancouver National Historic Reserve, visit the Officer's Row, the Fort Vancouver and more... Or just have a nice picnic in the park. Centrally located near downtown Vancouver with east access via car, bike, walk or bus....

This is a great place to take a walk through history. At the time of my visit they were restoring some of the buildings, which I am sure were needed. It is interesting to learn who spent time here.

If you like history of the USA, then the Vancouver National Historic landmark on Officers Row and adjacent Barracks and the rest of the place is where you want to be. You learn the history of the fort and how, during WWII, it looked and how operated during the war. This was a very active military base, and as such,... More

You can see all the history revolving around Presidents, great military leaders and the original Ft Vancouver (Hudsons Bay) trading outpost. This is a very easy walk down sidewalks and in a park to make viewing and seeing history easy. There are placards up along the walk that point out the history of the past. This is an awesome adventure... More
