It Is always interesting to walk a field and see how a battle played out. Our guide Zach gave a masterful telling of the battle during a Sunken Road tour, showing the high ground occupied by the Confederates and the typography the Union forces had...More

I found these sites very informative. I did not like the dollar charge to watch the movies. I thought the displays were very informative and the volunteers or national park rangers were very knowledgeable. The open sites can be done in about three hours. But...More

I love when you can walk and get a sense of where great battles took place. The National Park service has done a great job here with the small museum and interpretive walks offered on the gounds. Well worth the visit.

Great place to explore. Really moving to learn about the battle and walk the fields. You can see original walls, explore the monuments and spend time reflecting on what happened here in 1862.

Fortunately for me, my granddaughter lives just outside the parks boundaries so when we visit we take advantage of this uncrowded, unhurried, natural area for walks, often encountering wildlife or the cool of this green space. It's a locals favorite for running/jogging and cycling. Of...More

If you just visit the Fredericksburg Battlefield, yes. But there is also Chancellorsville, the Wilderness, and Spotsylvania Battlefields in the immediate area. That would be an overnighter. Have a great time!

There are not riding horses experiences any where close by. Again the Fredericksburg Area Vistors Center can help you out. Riding trails are located in more rural areas of the county.
