OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, NO DROP-INS ACCOMMODATED. PLEASE CALL FIRST. Enjoy a walk through the boreal forest of Alaska with our curious and gentle reindeer. Ruby, Olive, Willow, Jasper, Rufus, Daisy, Buttercup and Rocket will be your guides as you enjoy the beauty of Alaska's interior. See them romp free through the forest doing "reindeery" things. After our walk we will return to the house for a light refreshment and to finish up the conversation. Each time you come will be a unique experience. We are open year round by appointment only. Same day reservations sometimes available but you must contact us in advance. Winter cut off temperature -65 F.(That's a joke, it really never gets that cold, we cut off when you don't want to do it, we are always game! Reindeer love the cold!) Book Online on our website or facebook page.

Probably to most exciting was that I (along with my wife) got to do this walk on my 75th birthday. Started with a very informative talk on what to expect and one of the points was that if you get a gentle push by antlers or head on your behind don't panic it is just a reindeer asking you to... It was so great to walk around with the reindeer and see how they all have their own personalities, who are best mates and others not so much. I didn't know much about reindeer and learnt a lot while having so much fun. If you're in Fairbanks then you must visit these friendly reindeer!

Absolutely fabulous place to go when in Fairbanks, wonderful experience and so much information provided about how it all began and the different personalities of each reindeer as well as stories of them growing up. Lovely hot chocolate/coffee/tea plus magnificent cookies. Its worth going to Fairbanks just to do this tour!!

We walked with the reindeers during our recent visit to Fairbanks. It was an amazing experience. We had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. Getting that close to reindeers was like nothing else I have ever done. The animals were friendly and each had its own personality. Our guide and the owner was a wealth of knowledge... More

Our family had a great time here! The reindeer are running around to pet and act like puppies! Jane is very informative and friendly and the reindeer are well cared for family members. Would highly recommend a visit.

We read about the Running Reindeer Ranch on Trip Advisor and decided to go. Turned out to be the high point of our time in Fairbanks. Jane and Doug open their home and ranch to visitors (by appointment) to meet the reindeer and take a walk through the woods with them. What a thrill! When we got to the parking... More

I live in Fairbanks and brought 2 friends from the lower 48 to RRR. Although I have been to Jane's before, I have never taken the full tour. It was fantastic. Jane is knowledgeable, personable and full of great stories. It was 30 below zero, but Jane made sure that everyone had appropriate gear on. Bright sunshine, glistening snow and... More

First, I want to thank the folks at Running Reindeer Ranch and my fellow tour participants. We went to walk with the reindeers with my mom, dad, husband and 3 year old son. The walk was amazing! The reindeer were awesome and so were the fellow folks on the tours and Jane... my little guy was just too little for... More

Enjoyable experience at the reindeer ranch. Owner was knowledgeable and passionate. Walk was a little slippery with recent snowfall but short enough not to be too much trouble, even for those over 60 in the group.
