There are some interesting places to visit Downtown Fairbanks and the walk along the river is nice. Some cute shops and boutiques in the Co-op building. There is a cultural center and the children's museum is nice. Most of old Fairbanks has been removed due...More

We walked from our hotel to the downtown area. The sidewalks were lined with flowers, just a beautiful sight. Gift shops were open and we strolled in and out of many. Sidewalks were level. Street crossing were properly marked. Good illumination and ADA accessible.

There is very little to do in downtown Fairbanks! It seems mostly abandoned and not much to see. Not worth any time other than the cultural center and peace plaza.

Nice but fairly small downtown, but several nice restaurants, museums and shops. Lots of history in the museum which is free but asks for donations of $3/person, but is worth it.

Fairbanks Alaska is a quiet clean city. You can walk to practically any venue from any hotel. Wish I had more time to explore

We tried to explore in foot... The downtown area; Lacey, 1-12 Aves, etc. Let's face it... the neighborhoods and old downtown hotels... I didn't feel safe. Period. We really need to use adjectives like: abandoned, boarded-up, disrepair, unnerving. A good snowfall would make it look...More

The downtown area was a little run down and lacked a heart. The shopping opportunities were poor and the centre appeared to be dominated by bars. We enjoyed the paved area in the centre most of all with the Alaskan statue and quirky clock. You...More

I did not see any free shuttles. Taxi's were reasonable. Its not a big area. Maybe walk one way and taxi the other.
