We visited the research station two years ago when we were in Alaska. It was one of the things on my must see again list. The musk oxen are so fascinating. We were even more excited to see the baby musk ox, Gonzo.

We did not do the tour, we just viewed from the street and seen it from the train we rode. It is an easy way to view some of alaskas animals

Well worth a visit. Not open Mon-Tues. Guided tours only...check the times. Learn a lot about the Mus Ox and the Reindeer (similar to Caribou, and used for lots of research).

We took the station tour and got to meet the baby muskox, Kiwi. Too cute at 30 lb. I was surprised at how small muskox are. Also visited some caribou and reindeer. This is a fun place for families.

We didn't expect much from the Large Animal Research Station in March but were happy to see Musk Oxen. Easy to find and worth a stop on the way to Chena Springs.
