The aquarium use to be a great place to spend the day prior to being hit by hurricane Sandy. Since then it has reopened but only half the exhibits were open as of the summer of 2016. I would call first before going check to see if all the exhibits are open. From the aquarium it's a quick walk to... More

Loved watching all of the animals. Their habitats are well kept and the employees really knew their knowledge and loved sharing it. Loved the live sea lion show.

The place isn't large and there aren't many attractions but what they have is well kept, clean, and pretty cool. The real stars on this day were the sea lions and they're trainers, who on a cold rainy day still came out and performed an excellent show. Great for any age they were the stars. They are also building a... More

If you like the animals, the sea, and hope for an easy time in the crowed NYC, this is the place to spend half-a-day. The exhibits are beautiful, and we saw a great sea-lions show. Definitely worth the metro travel to Connery Island, even in winter time.

Though it was devastated by Hurrican Sandy, the New York Aquarium is rebuilding to become even better than before. With the wonderful animal exhibits and hands-on kids' area, your family can learn about the importance of the ocean, ocean life and how to care for them.

Even though not yet fully functional from Sandy, we really enjoyed the indoor displays, some of which are really mesmerizing. The outdoor Sea Lion show is really well done, lots of humor scattered throughout, kids and adults enjoyed alike, but bundle up if it's winter!! The penguin feeding is another feature we love, and we finish off with the 4D... More

Although Hurricane Sandy beat this place up, they are making a come back. Friendly staff, great things to see and great shows. Great for little kids or romantic grandparents wout the kids.

I have been to Aquariums all over the country.. This by far was one of the worst.. They are always under construction and don't have a lot to see.

Yes, they're rebuilding after Sandy and the prices are reduced, but really there's so little to see. There's the sea lion show (20 minutes max), which, if you miss, then you've wasted the price of admission - this is the highlight but is very brief and there's an usher who stands in the aisle and blocks the crowd's view. Sea... More

I loved my two recent trips to the Aquarium, one in July and the other in November. Bruiser and Osborne, the sea lions, are superstar performers of the show at the Aquatheatre. In the summer there were more sea lions performing, and one of the shows I went to introduced a new baby sea lion. I loved the show so... More
