Brighton Beach looks like time stopped there. All immigrants from USSR who still doesn't speak English. It's always noisy there and crowd. One of the good things there are good Russian stores.

Besides the lovely beach and boardwalk you have a little taste of Odessa and Moscow. Many russian restaurants and specialty food shops. Also do some shopping on Brighton Beach Ave. If you are lucky you may catch one of their street fairs. Enjoy.

While not quite as cheesy as Coney Island, Brighton Beach has nice sand and sea and a slew of Russian restaurants and nightclubs nearby.

We enjoyed a stroll on the beach, lunch at an outdoor café with a great view of the water and then a leisurely walk along Brighton Beach Avenue with all its Russian themed enterprises; it really does live up to nicknames such as "Little Odessa."...More

Get off Brighton Beach subway station. Walk up to the board walk. The board walk goes all the way to Coney Island. Maybe a mile or more. You can take the same subway back from CI. Don't miss walking around Brighton streets... More
