... that said, you could do worse than use Flatbush Ave as your means of exploring Brooklyn. Downtown, Barclay Centre, Park Slope, Grand Army Plaza, Library, Botanic Gardens, Prospect Park - enjoy. Stop into Frannys for a white clam pizza while your at it.

One can speculate whether or not Flatbush Avenue is an attraction or not. I stayed in the Flatbush Ave area near to Glenwood Ave and not too far from the Flatbush Ave/Brooklyn College subway. It was my first trip to the area and my first opportunity to stay locally as opposed to staying in a hotel. I have to say... More

Except for the Barclays Centre which sits at the borough's busies intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic, there really is nothing of touristic value here.

This street runs as a major artery in Brooklyn . Dotted with landmarks it runs along the charming areas in this old neighborhood . Littered with eateries of international food joints it can be a walkers dream stretch . If you are not in hurry discovering the Flatbush avenue can a delightful experience of an old neighborhood . Enjoyable !... More

Im surprised this site has an entry for this street. Its a pretty typical Brooklyn street, its long and covers a lot of neighborhoods (the Northern ones may not be so safe at night...). I guess if you just want to get a feel for BK, then start at the top and work your way to the bottom. I end... More

When walking down Flatbush Avenue, you will go through a variety of neighborhoods. Local restaurants, national chains, college areas, Barclay Center, Prospect Park and poor sections. It really is not an attraction. Just wear comfortable shoes.

Had no idea Flatbush was an attraction lol. It's just a street thats goes through Brooklyn. The best part would probably be were it ends at the library. Its a nice walk from say Newkirk Ave to the library on Flatbush.

It's a good area to do some sort of shopping but the problem of parking. Most the parking meters were not working. Old Navy and Burlington is in this area also and a couple of dollar stores. Not too crowded an area so you can do your shopping in a relaxed setting.

Flatbush Avenue is a great place to shop and get bargains in sportswear, has several banks spotted all along this avenue, is close to the home of the Nets and the Islanders at Barclay Center and is extremely ethnic, depending on which part of Flatbush Avenue you are on. You will find restaurants dotted along this big avenue. Some are... More

When you say 'attraction' you think museum, amusement parks, etc.... I have nothing negative to say about Flatbush Avenue as I was there to 'get a deal' when you shop. Very busy during the day, not sure about clubs or dining in the evening. I have only ever gone there for little shopping deals but on my next visit I... More
