Great views of Manhatten

Pleasant to walk around, some nice restaurants, great views of the city, unfortunate that there are so many busy roads running through this area though.

Some wonderful seafood and trendy restaurants along with quaint antique shops and book stores to roam about in. Another gem of an area in NYC.

DUMBO (Down under Manhattan Bridge overpass) is made famous by realtors. It was once a cheaper place to live. Not anymore. Neighborhood has some nice views of Manhattan and leftover cobble streets here and there. The restaurant scene frequently changes. There are also some art galleries and quirky shops. There are some festivals and events that could be of interest to... More

Lovely streets, cute buildings. You can really see the history here! Worth your time to go to the water's edge, good view of Manhattan from here also. Then walk to Grimaldi's for some massive and most delicious pizza! Finish it off by walking over the Brooklyn bridge to Manhattan.

This is the area under the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges (they are named for which ended they started first). Great views of the river and Manhattan. Nice shops and restaurants.

It was our first time at DUMBO, and it was a pleasant surprise, despite the low temperatures. The area provides great views of the Manhattan skyline and of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. The only disappointment was that the bars at the nearby parks close too early.

Hubby and I spent two weeks in Brooklyn and included Dumbo in our itinerary. We walked from our hotel on Duffield St and just absorbed the local culture along the way (busy traffic, noisy etc. but great). Dumbo is gorgeous and is under the Brooklyn Bridge so makes for brilliant photos. Cobbled streets and unique, quirky shops make it a... More

We walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and strolled around Dumbo for the day, had pizza and one of the locals and strolled back over the Brooklyn Bridge. Easy walk just take some water. Great little area to hang out and sit in the park.

This is alocal neighbourhood. We were here in late December, the wind was biting and many shops were closed. However we enjoyed several breakfast opportunities, the scenery, wandering the somewhat undeveloped areas and windowshopping !

I like the restaurants but finding parking can be very difficult. The area attracts a wide range of younger people. Walking can be difficult because of cobblestones, uneven streets and sidewalks, the hills can be steep.
