Nice to see

This is a nice picture op. It was not hard to find but hard to cross the road to it. We enjoyed seeing it.

Aside from no auto traffic coming into Brooklyn - New Years Eve was a balmy 45 degrees-music-hot chocolate from the borough President - although they did run out. The assortment of families was wonderful. Fireworks superb. Well organized.

If you're staying nearby, check out the farmers market. I'm sure it varies by season, when we were there, there was a huge selection of apples, fresh herbs, and so much more. Also, many fabulous breads and rolls. Go hungry!

Not only did we get to enjoy the plaza for it's sheer WOW power - we hit it right during the farmer's market on Saturday and loved it! The rest of our walk was much more enjoyable with a warm glass of cider!

We like that place. It is close to Prospect Park and Down town part of Brooklyn. Next to it is the Brooklyn Central library. Also, in the close vicinity to the Grand Army plaza is located a Farmers market with fresh veggies, bakery and cheese.

Small but beautiful plaza with its European-style arch, reminiscent of the Arc de Triomph in Paris. Be sure to pass by if you're visiting Brooklyn Museum or Public Library. Wish they had more signage explaining the historic significance of the place.

On those days when I try to appreciate New York as a visitor would and not as one who lives here, this monument always puts a smile on my face. It's a 12-minute walk from where I live, and I love jogging/walking past on my pre-brunch Saturday morning runs. TIP: very close to Brooklyn Museum, so if you think this... More

Very nice monument to take photos of and see. Good fountain behind which adds an extra touch of relaxation. Great area for a small picnic or Sunday mornings relaxation.

This plaza was dedicated after WWI. The Grand Army victoriously marched through the arch of the beautiful arched monument, which is the centerpiece of the plaza. The huge, intricate one hundred year old monument sits surrounded by roadways, across from the upper entrance to Prospect Park in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn. Interestingly, the monument contains the only sculpture... More

If you like national monuments, then this is Brooklyn's and it is lovely. It's right at the edge of Parkslope and nearby many amenities, (ie. Brooklyn Museum, Bklyn Public Library, Bklyn Botanical Gardens and Prospect Park, to name a few) so why not notice it?... it's a good photo op. There are fireworks that take place here on New Year's... More
