I love history. This museum gives a good overview of Powell and how he became who he was and did what he did in exploring the Colorado River. It also features stories of others who attempted, successfully or not, to navigate this waterway. Also gives...More

We stopped because we had a little extra time and were pleasantly surprised to find a very informative Museum, excellent display of Native American Artifacts, and helpful Visitor Information in the center of town. No charge, but donations accepted.

The museum is free. It doesn't have many displays. They sell tickets to various tourist destinations, and that is probably the museum's biggest draw. The gift shop is small but does offer quite a variety of books. Excellent staff.
