Overview
More
Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

We went by river raft on Colorado river with Discovery tours. They even provided lunch. We did the all day tour which took us to Horseshoe Bend. Strongly recommend it.

Beautiful view down of Horseshoe Bend and down over a thousand feet to the Colorado River below Glen Canyon Dam. The trail to the overlook is mostly very fine sand with some rock so wear walking shoes of some sort; sandals not recommended. The trail...More

So breathtaking! A short walk from the car (less than one mile). Even with all the tourists it is a must see. Careful as you get close to the edge!

Ignore the crowds of visitors who stand inches from the edge of a 1000 foot drop with selfie-sticks in hand, being buffeted by the rising winds of the canyon walls, mulling around the best spots to be photographed with the majestic bend of the Colorado...More

I was first introduced to this on Instagram as a new favourite hipster shot. I decided I had to see it for myself and it doesn't disappoint. What's even better is that this attraction is SO accessible and easy to get to. It's just a...More

The day before walking out the 3/4 m. walk to the overlook for Horseshoe Bend, my husband and I had taken a 15 mile kayak ride down the Colorado, starting near the Glen Canyon Dam. We stopped at Horseshoe Bend on the river to use...More

The hike over to the view points wasn't all that bad. A little up and then a pretty easy stroll to the areas you could look out over the River. Great places for pictures. On a sunny day make sure to take some water. It...More

It is hard to get a good view of the Canyon unless you go right up to the edge. There are people everywhere and the walk back to the car wasn't fun, it's all up hill in loose sand. It is certainly an amazing view...More

Definitely a lot of people around but how could you miss this marvel of nature. I had no problem however taking photo's at the edge without people in the view. It is a hot little hike up and down, take water for sure. Best view...More

3pm is fine. It will be warm and there is a bit of an uphill hike to get to the viewing area. Bring water and wear a hat. Also... THERE IS NO RAILING ON THE EDGE! If you have little explorers keep a close eye on them.

I would allow 2 hours for the Horseshoe Bend. It is 10 minutes walking to the Bend from the parking lot. You also need to walk around the upper rims of the Bend and take pictures. One hour is too rushed to do all this... More

I'm sorry, we had a car and had no information about moving around. Call Jackie at Canyon X tours (friend of Coco) at 928-660-8961. They are new and very helpful; may be able to help.
