This is a pretty busy little road. I opted to drive it to put off getting in the huge line at the entrance gate. Didn’t see any wildlife but lots of people driving the same narrow road early am. Not a highlight for us.

Beautiful drive that runs from Moose to near Teton Village. Unfortunately part of the road was closed for construction. We saw a grizzly bear from a distance and the road is known for wildlife viewing.

What a great place for viewing wildlife. It's a narrow road and was closed most of way to Teton Village, however, we were able to get to the pond. We had the pleasure of seeing a Moose each morning. and one morning with Rangers there, we had just missed 3 bears.
It's a wonderful eating area for the moose.
Great opportunity for photos or viewing, they are not too far away.
You can find this road just past the Craig Thomas Visitor Center, it will be the first road on the left then stay to the right. Moose Junction, not to far to the pond. maybe a mile or so.

We didn't see much along this road and it was narrow. But it took us from Phelps lake to Teton Village.

This road leads to a pond where the moose feed on the weed under the water. We saw two moose (one with calf) feed for over an hour each. Wondrous

One of the best places in Grand Teton to view Moose. Take this road early in the morning or in evenings for best wildlife viewing.

Beautiful. There is potential moose viewing, wildflowers, and hiking off the road: LRP with Phelps Lake and Death Canyon.

We traveled Moose Wilson Road several times, both in the morning and at dusk, in hopes of seeing wildlife. However, we were not surprised we did not see anything because so many people travel this road. One wide, pull-outs area we came to people were actually camped out with their lawn chairs at dusk hoping to see moose. This is not how that works; wildlife does not show up at a specified time. We did better viewing wildlife In other areas of the park.

We love this road because of it's beauty. The fact that you can often see moose or bears is a bonus. Narrow country road and lots of congestion when the animals are in view. So drive carefully!

Was best road we took, saw moose black bear, pretty drive that takes you to Teton village. Better drive than most. People will stop in the middle of the road and block traffic if they see anything. I think people are so far removed from nature that it's a big deal to see a critter, saw lots of dumb stuff when people saw an animal. Boggles my mind, look take your photo and move on, ya know there are zoos to get that close up. The animals don't deserve this. I dont get it.

When does the road close? Would it still be open first week of October?

Should still be open. They do close it for dust abatement and when there is heavy bear activity.
Always check with Visitor center near the entrance in Moose for updates or on the NPS website.

Driving the road in a sedan, can it be done? I saw elsewhere that people said they had to turn around and could not drive the road in a sedan due to potholes. Is that true?

No problems driving a sedan. We drove a mid sized SUV and had no issues. There are not many pull offs so you wind up 1/3rd on the road and the rest off the road. I agree with the individual that suggested the turnaround near the end. Entering from near Moose Bridge is the best. Good luck with wildlife watching.

Where to you enter Moose Wilson Road, and do you exit by backtracking or is it a loop? I see it on the Trip Advisor map, but it looks like Route 390? Thanks!

We came in from the south end through Teton village (hwy 390) and proceeded into the park where the road ended at the intersection (Moose/Park headquarters) close to the Nat'l Park visitor center. It was a beautiful drive and we saw several moose right next to the road. If you don't want to go into the park you can turn around by the park entrance. So technically the road does loop around if you don't mind going through the park. Hope this helps...
