No longer open to visitors, appt only. Closing soon
Aug. 2020
I had looked up this gallery before taking our trip and was exciting to see what they had to offer (originals, prints, etc). When we arrived they had signage outside that said they were no longer allowing visitors and would allow appts only. There was also something about selling the gallery so it looks like they are moving on. Too bad - loved the website!

Amazing Find
Aug. 2019
Glad we stumbled accross this place its a must see and will defiantly be looking for any new work of Paul's. Paul's talent is amazing and Katie was amazing at telling us the stories behind all the different artwork. We spent several hours the first day then made another visit a few days later for another few hours before heading back to South Texas. But before leaving we did have to buy some of the art and we cant wait for it to arrive so we can share the stories behind them. This gallery made our trip one of the best we have taken and with the artwork we bought will never forget it. They will take us right back to the Smoky Mountains and the rapids of the rivers each time we walk by them hanging on the walls.

Fabulous

The shop was closed when I came by but the owners said I could take pictures beside the rustic barn with a cool picture of a little girl, I got into conversation with the owner, the story behind the way they live and the way the artist creates the pictures in fascinating. I would highly recommend!

Such a neat place!

My cousin and I stopped here while we were in town because we saw the painting of “Lil miss” on the barn and were intrigued. We were welcomed by friendly staff who allowed us to tour through the gallery, despite it being after hours and told us the many stories and various backgrounds behind the artwork. Each piece of art has a captivating story full of history which is displayed so beautifully and uniquely through Murray’s artistry. They were even kind enough to allow us to take pictures around the property. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area looking for a fun time!!! (P.S. also a great learning experience about our early American Heritage from first hand encounters.)

What a wonderful visit my wife and I had to Paul Murray studio this afternoon. We were greeted warmly as we entered the 150ish year old home of the studio on the very edge of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Katie Lee quickly made us feel like old friends and she patiently and passionately shared the stories behind the art. The gentleman with the roller full of paint who was freshening up a wall near the front door took over thirty minutes to talk to us about his passion for the mountain people he calls friends - it was none other than Paul Murray himself. Greatness is always unassuming and Paul is every bit that - unassuming. We will always remember our time at Paul Murray studio. We hope to purchase a work for our new home that will allow us to share about our afternoon and will allow us to also share about the mountain people. Thanks Paul and Katie Lee for sharing!

Get out of downtown!
May 2019 • Family
Hands down the best experience my father and I had from our trip to Tennessee from Michigan. Downtown Gatlinburg is never going to give you a unique experience, it is the same as every other tourist town in the US. We ventured off the beaten path and found this art gallery. While the art is breathtaking, the stories it tells are like no other. Take the time to talk to the lovely woman on the front porch and learn about the true impact this art has on people who have been taken advantage of for years. So much more than just a gallery.

Hauntingly Beautiful Portraits!
Apr. 2019 • Friends
A few years ago I was in an antique shop in downtown Gatlinburg & saw my first piece of Paul Murray art, while not typically a fan of portrait art, I knew I'd be back to purchase the image that had caught my attention. So, when a friend purposed a weekend trip I jumped at the chance to finally visit the gallery. Visiting the arts & crafts community, & Paul Murray's Art Gallery was the relaxing (non touristy) get-a-way that was needed. And I not only got the original piece I feel in love with, but another to compliment it!
