Step back into tyme, an 1800's Tenn. Mountain farm comes alive with paintings and sketches of real mtn folk. Self taught artist Paul Murray has dedicated his life to preserving the last flicker of the past. In these faces you see and feel their hard lived lives, the peacefulness of isolation from progress and a soul like no other can capture. Award winning art that touches the soul, an experience that wont be easily forgotten. Wood crafts, Mtn landscape photos, wildlife art, heritage homestead. Porch sitting and storytelling. From the first time I found this place 7 years ago, I've been drawn to it like a moth to a flame! Paul's work of the Appalachia people is captured beautifully. Huis masterful work reminded me instantly of another Famous artist, Andrew Wyeth. Only to find out that he was one of Paul's inspirations. We showed up late this year...after... More

This was my second trip to this gallery, with several years between visits. The artwork was as I remembered...very beautiful and moving. This time I got to meet the artists wife who shared the history of the individuals featured in each masterpiece. She explained her husbands approach to each work and how he started with a pencil sketch and made... More

Had the pleasure of wandering into the gallery today even though it was technically closed. KatiJane welcomed us in and we spent the next hour learning about Paul and his art and the wonderful stories of the people he brings to life though his drawings and paintings. KatiJane was so nice, we felt like family by the time we left.... More

My friend and I stopped by this store as we were exploring the arts and crafts loop. The outside of the shop is quaint and very inviting. There was a man sitting on the front porch. As I started up the stairs, I gave him a very friendly hello. He just stared at me and didn't speak. My friend and... More

Wonderful gallery, original home of native Tennessean. Murray family warm and inviting. Purchased four prints which Paul Murray cheerfully signed for me!

Each painting holds the emotion and realism of the subject. Looking into the painting gives me the sense of being their and feeling what they feel. So rewarding seeing the life of what america should be.

Paul is a Canadian artist who has done some of the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen. His work is most unusual in that he doesn't concentrate on the overall details of his subject. He is gifted with the ability to look into the soul through the person's eyes. He makes you feel the true nature of the person. You... More

When you pull up there is a garden out front and an easel set up for Kati-Jane to draw. The view from the road makes you think of a place of comfort from the chairs on the porch to the garden Paul has planted. Paul's art takes you back in time with stories behind each one. I have been there twice... More
