What a beautiful place this is. Such serene atmosphere. it is surrounded by mountains and once you climb up the Monastery the view becomes breathtaking a must visit if you are in Armenia. Better to hire a car or a mini van to move around....More

Visited the monastery of Sevananank and Lake Sevan struck me too. Mountains on the other side, nice view of the sun, winter breeze, amazing lake and a cup of coffee makes everything so perfect; it gives a very relaxing feeling.

I love this place.....it is the highest lake in the world as for as I know and it was surrounded by snow beautifully! The church on the top of the mountain is also lovely and a must visit site cause it is historic as well.

Sadly we were here in late October and the weather wasn't that nice. But it is easy to see how this would be amazing in summer and early fall. The Sevanavank monastery has incredible views of the Lake and is well worth a visit.

Covers a vast area with a number of resorts on its west side. Possible to do it as a day trip from Yerevan, but at 1900m, be aware of possible altitude sickness. A major tourist attraction for local Armenian in the summer, the area around...More

Much cooler than Yerevan in August. Great for a swim. I recommend the northern or southern shores within 40 minutes from peninsula with the churches. Explore for yourself.

That is the biggest Armenian water reservoir so no wonder that there are located places for a summer vacations and that places are crowded in the season. The lake itself is very nice located. Blue water sorrounded with mountains.

Not so long. Around 1.5 hours from yerevan. The easiest by taking tour. Public is a bit complicated because you need to change buses but its doable
