I had 8 hours to kill before my bus ride. I was alone so watched a few movies with popcorn. Place is laid back and super cheep with fans. The movies were original and good.

When we visited the cinema hall was under renovation and hall was pretty old , really I find going there was waste of time , there is so much to see in kampot , missing old royal cinema wasn't a big deal.

This is one of four original cinema houses that were originally operating in Kampot, and is to this day the only remaining semi-functional vintage movie hall. The Royal was one of King Sihanouk's favorite venues in Kampot province, and the movie hall remained active until...More

Being renovated right now. Was hard to find on a scorching day. The only thing you may enjoy so far is a front face, we'll see what it turns into in future.

Nothing much to tell about the place. The façade was pretty plain and there wasn`t anything going on when I went there, so, in a nutshell, I just wasted time finding the place.

We were there to see a documentary about a Cambodian-american poet- and the whole theater was packed. It was really hot and there probably weren't enough fans but it was so cool to see this kind of arts scene in Kampot.

We drove through it several times and decided to stop by for a visit but it's close and the 'neighbors' of the place said it's not possible to visit. Nice heritage building but nothing happened there.

There are two old cinemas in Kampot. One has been demolished all bar the facade but thankfully this one is still standing although in dire need of a makeover. I went inside as was met by a nice lady who was welcoming but spoke very...More

This 60-year-old cinema is of considerable heritage value and it was a wonderfully modernist look to it. Sadly, it is no longer in use but with Kampot slowly coming back to life, now as a destination for European travellers, it may one day come back...More
