This huge temple is mind boggling. It has the most beautiful finely worked stone carvings. There are four musical pillars which were carved out of a single stone and by striking them the emit notes. It also has a forest of stone pillars over 1000 whith carvings. There is a Hanuman statue which is almost 7 meters high. The temple... More

Suchindram - Situated at a distance of about 5 km on the route to Kanyakumari from Nagercoil is a widely visited Temple by the Tourists and the General Public. A narrow and hundred years old bridge which was withstanding the heavy flow of traffic in Suchindram is being used hereafter for light vehicles,as a new bridge adjacent to it under... More

This is one of kind place.. where both tamil and kerala style of rituals are performed. Priests there provide history of the temple. Place of navagrahas on roof , anjaneya swamy idol, musical pillars.. are main attractions. they do take lot of money at each step .

Pay at each and every step. As Indians are god fearing they take clear advantage of the mentality and start asking money from Rs.200 and upwards for the "wellbeing" of family etc etc...The "priests" are ready to explain everything and in the end they "demand" a specific amount of money which is out and out sick behaviour.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Sthanu malayan (Thanu malayan in Tamil) but has a variety of verious deities inside. The most interesting one is that of an exceptionally tall idol of Lord Hanuman. The very large roch seen in the temple pond according to a myth is the earthly stone form of Airavat, Lord Idra's vehicle a... More

This temple with Trinity as central deity is unparallel for its architecture & splendour. It also houses a huge monolith stone statue of Hanuman with navagrahas embedded unusually in Vinayagar mandapam's ceiling goes on to prove our astronomy was miles ahead of western theories. Intricate carvings of pillars, ceilings, gods n goddess simply takes one breath away. A must see... More
