It was included as a stop on an East Bali tour and was one of the highlights. I loved the surrounding environment and beautiful gardens. The palace itself was just alright, but everything surrounding the palace was just beautiful. Ujung Water Palace is worth a stop.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten January 26, 2024

It was spacious, well-maintained and beautifully structured. Recommended to visit if you have time. Somehow the entrance fee is quite expensive - Rp100K per person/entry for international tourist - I personally think that Rp50K would be a reasonable fee.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten March 20, 2024

Taman Ujung is the royal garden of East Bali, namely Karang Asem. The garden is very large and the pond is beautiful. The air here is still very beautiful. The parking area is spacious and the ticket price is also affordable so we are very happy to be able to visit here🙏Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten August 4, 2024

It is a very interesting part of Bali's history as it was built for the King of Karangasem. The gardens are amazing. The water is almost like a moat. We didn't climb the stairs as we are a bit older. However, I would imagine the view is great. We enjoyed our visit and learning a bit about the King.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten August 25, 2024

If you could find a nice shady tree, this would be an ideal spot for a leisurely picnic (something we missed on our trips through Bali). Lots of families were out and about the day we visited, so it was full of fun and activity. Enjoyed the short photographic display inside part of the palace. Definitely worth a visit.

What a lovely Palace, the history of this Palace is well documented. The gardens are beautifully displayed with vibrant flowers. Worth the visit, although the entry fee was slightly higher than the other Water Palace. The entry fee was 50k IR. Visited September 2018.

Visited Ujung Water Palace on my last trip to Bali, and I must say, it's a place that shouldn't be missed! The grounds are massive with well-maintained gardens, serene ponds, and elegant bridges that create a magical backdrop for photos.
I was blown away by the beautiful architecture, reflecting a rich blend of Balinese and European styles. The views of Mount Agung in the distance added to the charm, making the whole experience truly breathtaking.
Though it can get a bit crowded, especially during peak hours, there's plenty of space to find a quiet spot and take in the tranquil surroundings. The entrance fee was reasonable, and I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
The only downside? I wish I had brought a hat and some sunscreen, as the sun was pretty intense. But hey, that's on me!

Very beautiful palace but unpleasant and dishonest experience at the entrance cashier. I presented my bank card; the employee took it from my hands and validated the payment then claimed that it hadn't worked. He went to find another payment terminal and started the same operation again. I wasn't happy with his way of doing things but I trusted him. Only to realize a few days later that the entry had been debited twice from my account. In short, be careful and refuse to have your card taken from your hands. I wrote to the site through Google to explain my problem; I never received a response.

I'm going to Bali later this month and I'm planning to be in Seminyak for 5 days and 4 days in Ubud. Is this place closer to Seminyak or Ubud?
Written June 5, 2018
It’s closer to Ubud but even from Ubud it’s still 2/3 hours away , it’s basically in the top right hand corner of Bali.
You could make a day of it by including Tirta Gangga Water Palace , Pura Lempuyang temple and even Besakih mother temple as well...this will make it a pretty big day with a fair amount of travel.

Written April 4, 2018
At what time does the palace open and close? If someone can tell me it would be great.
Written August 23, 2017
Not 100% sure but just about to board plane again for Bali, will post info soon, cheers.
Written August 27, 2017
Hi, is this place worth visiting even if you visit Tirta Gangga? and is there an entry fee? and how much?
Written July 23, 2017
The water palaces are both very different and would thoroughly recommend doing both, since they are so close to each other. Tirta Gangga is 30,000 rph entry fee, roughly $3 Australian dollars and Taman Ujung on the coast is 50,000rph, being less than $5 Australian dollars. Very inexpensive. A short drive from Taman Ujung is also Bali Chocolate Factory, no entry free and they have 3 large rope swings inbetween palm trees on the beach. Well worth a visit there too, all so close to each other and have never seen them too busy even in school holidays.

this palace has so much story to tell - we visited the palace and learnt that the 3 gates on one side symbolize Love, Care and Compassion and the other side is about the 6 layers of leaders' philosophy. be great to have it written on a small plague on each gate. very soon i hope. is there any written history available ?
Written March 16, 2017
Sorry for the late reply, there is a lot of written information actually inside the gardens including pictures

nous sommes à bali pour un moi et nous descendons la côte à pied de amed à candidasa. nous voudrions savoir le prix d entrée pour visité taman soekasada ujung
Merci d avance :-)
Written September 13, 2016
for local Indonesian it is only IDR 10k. do not have information for foreigners
Written November 7, 2016
You can google the distance; travelling from Kuta I would suggest to do a day trip, starting early morning, so you can visit and enjoy other attractions near Amed/Candidasa like Tirta Gangga Water Temple
Written June 15, 2017
How long should we plan on spending there? Going with teens, so we can't lounge around, but they would want to see most everything.
Written March 16, 2015
With kids I would allow some extra time, so you all can enjoy it without rushing up. It's a beautiful place and you will end up having lots of lovely family photographs there
