Overview

President Harry S Truman took America from its traditional isolationism into the age of international involvement. Despite his power, he never forgot where he came from. Today, visitors can experience the surroundings Truman knew as a young man of modest ambition through his political career and final years as a former president.

Definitely a 'go to' Presidential Library and Home. Both are learning experiences for all things Harry Truman. The Library does have handicapped parking and an easy wheelchair accessible entrance. The Museum could use a small coffee shop to stop a moment, reflect, and continue. President...More

Disappointed that we could not see more of the house. Have to stay on carpets, and there's no access to the 2nd floor.

This is a wonderful place to see Truman's home and the neighborhood he knew so well. Goes a long way to demonstrate how American character got forged in patriotic Midwesterners.

A very intimate look into the private life of a former President. Mr. Truman returned humbly to this quaint home after eight years in the White House. The house tour is led by a knowledgeable Park Ranger. No photography is allowed inside the house. This...More
